The rule
mg = mcg ÷ 1,000 mcg = mg × 1,000
Moving from mcg to mg, the decimal point moves three places to the left: 250 mcg = 0.25 mg. Moving from mg to mcg, it moves three places to the right: 0.5 mg = 500 mcg. "mcg" and "µg" mean the same thing.
